Looking Forward

pressing forward in race
“Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own  Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do:  forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.  I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:12-14

Continuing to press on toward the goal can be much easier said than done.  Our lives have changed into this new normal that is not a normal we would choose.  Still we must press on, stay united and know we are being called to care for one another, love one another, strengthen our relationships with one another.

Now is a good time to focus on what lies ahead.  Summer break starts this week.  Changes in routine are many for those who no longer have to concern themselves with homework.  What is the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus for you?  May you be encouraged by the words Paul wrote in the book of Philippians, telling his fellow Christians, don’t stop.

Let us pray...

Jesus, we pray in your name, continue to be with us during this time of change in normalcy.  Keep us focused on what lies ahead, helping us to let go and grieve the past, remembering the good, forgiving the bad, embracing the future.  Amen.
